Junior Boys

"What You Won't Do for Love" (Bobby Caldwell cover)

BY Alex HudsonPublished Aug 28, 2015

Hamilton electronic duo Junior Boys haven't released any new music in a while, but that's about to change. They've got a 12-inch coming out through Dan Snaith's Jiaolong imprint, and now they've shared the A-side: a cover of Bobby Caldwell's 1978 song "What You Won't Do for Love."

The song is a futuristic dance groove, as a steadily thumping robo beat provides the rhythmic backbone for blippy arpeggiators and breathy vocals. It's a big departure from the smooth, adult contemporary soul of the original.

Stream the song below (it's also available as a free download for the first 48 hours). The 12-inch comes backed with an instrumental dub version of the same track. A release date for the vinyl hasn't been announced.

Junior Boys haven't released an album since 2011's It's All True.
