The Junction Unveil 'Grievances'

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 19, 2012

The Junction allegedly went through the ringer following the release of their 2009 sophomore set Another Link in the Chain, but the Toronto group have channelled those emotional hardships into their upcoming LP, Grievances.

The album will drop care of the Junction Inc/Fontana North on March 6. According to a press release, singer/guitarist Brent Jackson went through the brutal dissolving of a seven-year relationship that left him "homeless" and couch-surfing with anyone that would put him up. While the experience is said to have influenced the recording, Grievances is apparently more than just a break-up record, described instead as "a musical examination of universal human pathos in all its forms -- brightness and love, but also detachment and heartbreak."

Recorded in Montreal with producers Gus Van Go and Werner F (the Stills, Hollerado, Priestess), the Junction's latest is primed to reveal the "anthemic rock sound" the group have been touting since forming over ten years ago.

While a tracklisting and the cover art have yet to be unveiled, you can check out the driving, stock footage-heavy clip for first single "Awakenings" down below.
