Published Aug 28, 2012Audio experimenter Julia Holter delivered her much-praised album Ekstasis earlier this year, and after opening a recent string of shows with Sigur Rós, she'll be kicking off her own tour later this week.
Launching from New York City, Holter will remain mostly stateside, though she's booked gigs in Montreal and Toronto on September 21 and 22, respectively. The dates conclude with an appearance at Asheville, NC's Moogfest at the end of October. The complete list of dates can be seen below.
The Los Angeles-based songstress has also unveiled a new video for Ekstasis track "Goddess Eyes I." The tune originally appeared on Holter's debut Tragedy, but it was reworked to be included on the latest LP.
The clip was a collaboration with L.A. visual artist José Wolff, who described it in a press release as "an image that gradually deteriorates with visual noise, echoing the sonic noise present in the song."
He continued, "We go from lightness to darkness, away from a structured, fabricated place and into raw territory."
