Los Angeles-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Julia Holter has been turning heads since her 2011 album Tragedy made its debut. While the album and its follow-up were primarily electronic, her third album, Loud City Song, released this month, is a lusher affair thanks to the ensemble of musicians Holter recorded with.
We caught up with Holter at the Drake Hotel, where she performed Loud City Song track "In the Green Wild" with a full backing band. Holter's keyboards are joined by upright bass, saxophone, violin and drums to give the performance a hypnotic, almost ritualistic feel. Watch the performance below.
