Josh Homme Rejects Nick Oliveri's Attempt to Play with Queens of the Stone Age

While we already knew that Queens of the Stone Age main man Josh Homme had no interest in reuniting with his old buddies in Kyuss, it seems as if there's not much of a chance that he will join up again with former brother-in-arms and QOTSA founder Nick Oliveri either. According to the Oliveri, Homme turned down an offer from the bassist to hop on board to do a quick number with QOTSA at a recent gig. And for a song that he wrote, even. Ouch!

An interview with Ugo.com finds Oliveri explaining that his relationship with his former bandmate has improved since he was kicked out of QOTSA back in 2004, but that doesn't mean they will be high-fiving onstage any time soon. The last time he saw them in L.A., for instance, his request to jam was straight up denied.

"I was down there and I mentioned to them, 'Why don't I come up and do ['You Think I Ain't Worth a Dollar but I Feel Like a Millionaire'] or something, and sing it and not play bass?" Oliveri said. "[Homme] was like, 'Nah, I don't think that's a good idea yet.'

"It's kind of in his court for stuff like that. I don't think he wants to give anybody the wrong idea. I don't necessarily know if that would happen. And he's got a good band -- he's taking the band in the direction he wants it to go. Hey, it's all good."

Despite the diss, Oliveri bears no ill will and is even planning on catching the band again on their current tour.
