Josh Homme and Mark Lanegan Write Theme Song for Anthony Bourdain's New Show

Queens of the Stone Age have previously appeared on culinary icon Anthony Bourdain's show No Reservations, and band leader Josh Homme even contributed music to the show's soundtrack. This collaborative relationship has once again proved fruitful, since Homme teamed up Mark Lanegan to write the theme song for the new show Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown.

Bourdain previously hinted at the theme song in a Facebook post last month, writing, "When you hear the new title music for Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown your head will explode, leaving only a smoking stump. When we heard what (redacted) and (redacted) had come up with, there was weeping and jaw-droppage. Wish I could say who it is. Only hint: It's not a band per se. It's a one-off collaboration."

In the comments section of that post, several of Bourdain's fans guessed that Homme would be involved.

The first episode of Parts Unknown found Bourdain travelling to Myanmar. You can watch the full episode over at CNN's website. The rocking theme song, which concerns travelling and features some "sha-la-la" vocal harmonies, begins around the 50-second mark.

Below, watch Homme's past appearance on No Reservations.

As previously reported, Queens of the Stone Age's …Like Clockwork is due out June 4 through Matador.
