Remember the first time you heard "No One Knows," the Queens of the Stone Age song featuring drum demon Dave Grohl on the skins? Remember how you almost lost your shit it was so good? Well, a rumour that Grohl himself started in a 2005 Mojo interview is resurfacing again and, if true, could blow our minds for good this time. Supposedly, Grohl, Queens front-man Josh Homme and freakin' Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones are currently working on an album in a Los Angeles recording studio.
This news comes from Homme's wife and Spinnerette leader Brody Dalle, reports Antiquiet. "I'm not at liberty to talk about it... but I think [the project] is pretty fucking amazing," said Dalle. "Just beats and sounds like you've never heard before."
Yeah, it's not tons to go on, but back in that 2005 Mojo interview, Grohl told the magazine, "The next project that I'm trying to initiate involves me on drums, Josh Homme on guitar, and John Paul Jones playing bass. That's the next album. That wouldn't suck."
Also, Jones recently told a French reporter, "I'm working on some other music, which is more rock based, with a couple of other people. We hope to be everywhere this summer... It's a secret, actually. I shouldn't have even said that, you know? There are some exciting projects coming up, let's put it that way."
No other details have leaked yet, though, including a name for the project.
In other head-shaking Josh Homme collaboration news, Rock-a-Rolla is also reporting that none other than Mike Patton could be part of the next Desert Sessions.
