Published May 25, 2009While folk heartbreaker Jose Gonzalez may have not put out an album in a while now, that's not stopping him from paying Canada a visit. This summer the Swede has lined up a handful of live dates north of the border, hitting up such cities as Vancouver, Toronto and Halifax.
Most of the shows come as part of various cities' summer festivals. And while Gonzalez's melancholic tunes definitely fall on the folk side of the musical spectrum, strangely enough he's mostly playing jazz festivals. Still, considering the following Gonzalez has attracted over the years, it's hard to imagine many complaints.
Along with the Canadian shows there's also one U.S. stop at the Ann Arbor Summer Festival in Michigan on July 1.
Here are the dates:
6/25 Halifax, NS - St. Matthew's Church
6/26 Toronto, ON - Toronto Jazz Festival
6/27 Winnipeg, MB - Winnipeg Jazz Festival
6/28 Vancouver, BC - Vancouver Int'l Jazz Festival
6/29 Saskatoon, SK - Saskatchewan Jazz Festival
7/1 Ann Arbor, MI - Ann Arbor Summer Festival
