Albertan experimental composer Jonathan Kawchuk's new album Everywhen is out today via Paper Bag Records, and to celebrate its release, the artist has planned a listening party on June 13 in Toronto.

Following the release of singles "Solar Plexus," "Syrinx" and "Everywwhen" — and now, the album at large — Kawchuk invites fans to immerse themselves deeper into the 14-track West Coast- and nature-inspired effort, which arrives eight years on from its inception.

An all-ages Dolby Atmos listening party will take place on Monday (June 13) at 7 p.m. ET at the Yonge-Dundas Cineplex Theatre, with Kawchuk and collaborators in attendance and ready to chat with attendees during a Q&A session. Tickets are now available to purchase for $15 through Side Door.

The collage-style album finds Kawchuk sampling the raw elements of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, giving way to the tactile reverberations of grizzlies, elk, trees, grass, and the sentient, lush ecology of Kananaskis. As per a release: "Everywhen is not a record about a place. It is a record by a place."

"If we are so royally unfortunate as to lose them, then I want to have preserved a record of what it felt like to be a person in that place," Kawchuk said of the mountains, whose preservation remains in flux amid the ever-encroaching climate crisis.
