Jonas

Jonas

BY Erica LeducPublished Dec 1, 2004

The debut album from Jonas is a collection of aggressive Québec blues rock. It features collaborations with the likes of Sass Jordan, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. So yes, this does sound a little like Aerosmith at times, but better. This CD was produced by Dole Penner, who has also worked with Nickelback and Holly McNarland. Jonas sounds very accomplished for his 24 years, displaying the kind of intensity that is missing from many albums. The slow songs are where he really shines. They are more focused, and you can hear the real power of his voice, which seems to seep right through you. "Show me” almost sounds like a country song, which is a genre he should explore more often.
