Jona Bechtolt Quits the Blow to Pursue YACHT

BY Cam LindsayPublished Jun 6, 2007

According to his publicist at Force Field PR, Jona Bechtolt has officially quit the Blow, to focus on his new solo project YACHT.

The statement released by Force Field reads:

"Jona Bechtolt, whose production skills, instrumentation, and beats can be found on The Blow's albums Poor Aim: Love Songs and Paper Television will no longer be a member of the band, in the studio or on the road - he is leaving in order to concentrate all of his energy on his primary project, YACHT. The Blow will continue on as the project of Khaela Maricich.

Although he is enormously proud of his work with The Blow, as well as happy for The Blow's continued success, he would like to clarify any confusion: the reason he was not on stage during any of this year's Blow performances is because he was performing live as YACHT, and working on his new YACHT album I Believe In You. Your Magic Is Real. which was released last month via Marriage Records.

YACHT will be heading back out on the road next week with two recently added dates in LA with LCD Soundsystem, an upcoming West-Coast tour with Architecture in Helsinki and later hitting Japan, Europe, and Australia. A new YACHT DVD will be released this winter, featuring never-before-seen tour documentaries, music videos, and jokes." br>
