Jon Spencer Blues Explosion Return with First New 'Explosion Juke Box Series' 7-Inch in a Decade
Despite delivering a series of album reissues a couple of years back, the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion haven't really been dropping new tunes since they got back together. The band are resuscitating their Explosion Juke Box Series, however, to issue new tune "Gadzooks."

In the Red Records will deliver the sixth instalment of the series on May 29. This will be the first Juke Box Series release since 2002's "Ghetto Mom" / "Do Ya Wanna Get It."

The aforementioned "Gadzooks" is a new tune described in a press release as "an original that captures them at their fractured, fuzzy, scuzzed-out best," while the flip hosts a cover of James Brown's "Tell Me That You Love Me." The trio have apparently been playing their take on the tune live since the '90s, but have only just got around to laying it down in the studio.

Like previous Juke Box releases, "Gadzooks" / "Tell Me That You Love Me" will be delivered as a barebones release packaged in a basic paper sleeve with a jukebox title strip being the only artwork. The group began the series in 1992 with the "Shirt Jac" / "Latch-On" single.
