A few weeks ago, electronic whiz Jon Hopkins remixed "Amenamy" by synth-pop outfit Purity Ring. Now, the two acts' mutual admiration society continues, as Purity Ring's Megan James has added vocals to a new version of Hopkins's track "Breathe This Air."
This edit of the song is a little shorter than the original cut, but the instrumental production otherwise sounds the same as the version that appears on Hopkins' recent album Immunity. James's vocals are soaked in echo and are a pleasant (if somewhat superfluous) addition.
Hopkins and Purity Ring will play a pair of shows together at Los Angeles's Fonda Theatre on August 27 and 28.
