Jon Brion Scoring Judd Apatow's 'Trainwreck'

While Jon Brion occasionally ventures into pop rock production, he mostly keeps himself busy with a steady stream of film scores. The Brion-scored Mark Wahlberg vehicle The Gambler is set to hit theatres on Christmas Day (December 25), and now he's got another project on the go: Brion is writing the music for director Judd Apatow's new comedy Trainwreck.

The film is set to come out in July through Universal Pictures. It's based on a screenplay by Apatow and comedian Amy Schumer, who stars alongside Bill Hader, Brie Larson, Tilda Swinton, LeBron James, Method Man, John Cena and others. It's about a woman trying to get over her fear of commitment.

This isn't the first time that Brion has worked with Apatow. He also scored 2012's This Is 40 and even had an on-screen role in 2009's Funny People.

Presumably, Brion's Trainwreck score will be released as a soundtrack. There's no word as to whether the film will include music by other artists or if it will purely be Brion's work.

The Grammy-nominated Brion's past scores include 1999's Magnolia, 2002's Punch Drunk Love, 2004's Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and 2012's ParaNorman.
