Just over two years removed from sharing his I Need Love album, Edmonton songwriter Jom Comyn (a.k.a Jim Cuming) has shared the details behind a follow-up effort.

Titled Crawl, the 12-track release is set to arrive September 6 through Double Lunch Records. You can preorder the release here.

The album is said to find Cuming further exploring the "snow-crust" indie rock style he has become synonymous with, featuring "unconventional song structures, counter-intuitive chord shapes, steady rhythms, gloomy basslines, and an unmistakable baritone singing voice."

Crawl found Cuming working alongside Chris Dadge (Alvvays, Lab Coast), co-arranging the songs over a 12-month period at the latter's 606 Studios in Calgary, Alberta. Alongside Dadge, Cuming enlisted contributions from Chad VanGaalen, Samantha Savage Smith, David Laing and Ryan Bourne.

Dadge also produced, engineered and mixed the record, while Harris Newman handled mastering at Greymarket Mastering in Montreal.

Alongside the news, Cuming has shared a video for album cut "Chapel of Chimes," which you can view below. Directed and edited by Don Zimmermon, the video captures a Cuming performance shot through a car at a variety of different angles.

Cuming has also mapped out a number of Canadian tour dates for September and October, including a stop at POP Montreal. You can find his present itinerary below.
