Joan of Arc Announce Cassette Box Set

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jul 16, 2010

In recent years, there's been no shortage of artists reissuing their old albums on vinyl, but here's something you don't see every day: on September 14, Cap'n Jazz spinoff Joan of Arc will be reissuing most of their catalogue on cassette via Joyful Noise.

Ten albums are included this reissue, starting with 1997's A Portable Model of Joan of Arc and going up to 2009's Flowers. The only albums missing are 2003's Live in Muenster, 2005's Guitar Duets, 2006's rarities compilation The Intelligent Design of Joan of Arc and 2007's Orchard Vale soundtrack. The band's singles and EPs are also not included.

The albums will be available individually and will come with a download coupon for high quality MP3s. For hardcore fans, the entire collection will be available a massive box set for just $59 ($49 for pre-orders). According to a press release, "The collection is housed in a custom-built wooden box, elaborately screen-printed, hand-numbered and limited to 100 copies." Wow.

If you need a little extra convincing, Joyful Noise is offering a free digital sampler, with one track from each release. You can download the sampler here.

To commemorate the release, the band are playing two shows. See the dates at the bottom of the page.
