Joan Jett Gets Dave Grohl, Against Me!'s Laura Jane Grace for 'Unvarnished' Album

It's been seven years since Blackhearts singer Joan Jett released a new album, but that will change on October 1 when she drops Unvarnished.

The album contains 10 songs, with notable guest performers including serial collaborator Dave Grohl and Against Me!'s Laura Jane Grace. In a statement [via Rolling Stone], Jett said, "It's a real band album. Everybody was involved." According to Jett, this is her most autobiographical material ever.

The album's first single is called "Any Weather," and Jett previously told the New Zealand Herald that it's a love song that was penned with Grohl. She also said that Unvarnished will include "TMI" and "Reality Mentality," two songs that were included in a recent Australian reissue of her 2010 Greatest Hits compilation.

Listen to those songs below (although note that both tracks are significantly shorter than the versions currently available on iTunes, so there appears to be some subtle editing going on).

Jett and the Blackhearts will perform "Any Weather" on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on August 8.
