Jimmy Kimmel Announces Supergroup Mashups with Weezer, HAIM, ZZ Top

Jimmy Kimmel may have alienated himself to Morrissey, but the talk show host is still evidently popular among other musicians, since he has managed to rope in a number of big-name acts for a string of collaborative performances in February.

This series is called "Mash Up Mondays," and it will bring audiences weekly performances in which two artists will unite to form a supergroup.

First up, on February 2, Weezer and ZZ Top will get together as Wee-Z Top. Then on February 9, HAIM along with Morris Day and the Time will form Morris Day and the HAIM. Then on February 16, Aloe Blacc and Blackstreet will convene as — you can probably see where this is going — Aloe Blaccstreet.

Be honest, Jimmy: you just chose these pairings based on the names, didn't you?

The collaboration for February 23 has yet to be announced, presumably to allow fans the pleasure of coming up with their own punning ideas for mashups. Aphex Twin Shadow? Panda Bear in Heaven? Iggy Azealia Banks? Okay, that one probably isn't going to happen.
