My Morning Jacket head honcho Jim James is only temporarily stepping away from the band to promote his new solo set Region of Light and Sound of God, but the folky singer-songwriter is nonetheless seeking out a "New Life," at least according to the song of the same name.
The video starts off simply, with James plucking away at an acoustic guitar whilst sitting in an empty room, but the clip ends up being kind of a head scratcher. A series of doors lead the wooly dude outside, where he starts serenading an interpretative dance-inspired lady minotaur. As James walks ever closer to his bovine beauty, he manages to flank himself with a dance crew of his own, while the whole thing wraps with some short-distance sprinting in the dirt.
