Jim Breuer Gets AC/DC's Brian Johnson for Debut Metal Album

Comedian Jim Breuer has offered up the details on his previously teased, "respectable" metal album. Joined by backup band the Loud & Rowdy and ousted AC/DC singer Brian Johnson, his Songs from the Garage will be released next Friday (May 27) through Metal Blade.

As previously reported, the SNL alum prepped a record's worth of "hard rock and metal for my generation." The comedian-cum-musician cited '80s-period metal as a touchstone for his sound and believed that people expecting a comedy album would be taken aback by the "real songs" on the release.

"I think it's going to surprise most people," he had previously said in a statement. "I think the hard rock, metal world will embrace [it], where many other people who thought it was going to be really funny will think, 'Oh, he really wasn't that funny in it. He wrote some real songs.' So, I don't know what to expect from it, but it's definitely hard rock and metal for my generation."

In addition to his backup band, former AC/DC frontman, a good friend of Breuer's, helped throw down some vocals on the album. Specifically, the rocker's famously screechy pipes can be heard on album tracks "My Rock n Roll Dream" and "Mr. Rock n Roll." You'll find a stream of the latter down below.

"To me, Brian is the most powerful voice in rock'n'roll," Breuer told Rolling Stone. "He is also the funniest and most generous man I have ever known. I am still in awe of how he recorded the song and forever thankful."

Earlier this year, Breuer had suggested through his The Metal in Me podcast that Johnson had been "kicked to the curb" by AC/DC after he was told by doctors to "stop touring immediately" over his hearing. While Breuer later said that this was just his suspicion and not a direct quote from the singer, Johnson issued a statement clarifying his departure from the group in April.
