Jeremy Allingham

'Run Wild' (album stream)

BY Alex HudsonPublished Apr 13, 2018

Having played in bands like Like a Martyr and Factories & Alleyways, Vancouver songwriter Jeremy Allingham has since gone on to a prolific solo career, and his latest release is the full-length Run Wild. Ahead of his hometown release show on April 21, he is streaming the entire record in advance.

Once again, Allingham recorded with noted West Coast producer Jesse Gander (Japandroids, White Lung), who also worked on 2016's Memory Electric. Sessions took place at Raincity Recorders studio.

A press release cites influences like Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and Pearl Jam, and there's no mistaking the classic rock influences in Run Wild's 10 tracks. The first half of the collection emphasizes gruff, noisy roots rock, while the back half showcases some mellower sounds and includes a couple of alt-country-tinged ballads.
