Jenny Lewis Working On Second Solo Album

Jenny Lewis Working On Second Solo Album
Jenny Lewis hasn't finished her touring commitments in support of Rilo Kiley's Under the Blacklight yet, but that hasn't stopped her from heading into the studio to record the follow-up to 2006's Rabbit Fur Coat. With the next Rilo Kiley tour approaching, which includes performances at Coachella and Bonnaroo, the critically lauded singer has spent her short-lived down-time working with a questionable array of famous friends on apparently all-analog recording sessions. A report by Entertainment Weekly's Hollywood Insider stated that Lewis has been working with her boyfriend, singer-songwriter Johnathan Rice, Blacklight co-producer Jason Lader, and "Farmer Dave" Scher of Beachwood Sparks/the Tyde. Adding a serious WTF? factor to the proceedings, M. Ward, Zooey Deschanel and Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes all supposedly "dropped by" to lay down guest vocals, not to mention Elvis Costello, who recorded a full-on duet with the red-haired beauty.

So we should all be freaking out now in rabid anticipation over the thought of Lewis' and Deschanel's lovely vocal chords intertwining, right? Wrong, according to Pitchfork, who received word from Lewis' publicist that the phrasing of EW.com's report was "misleading" and the rosters of guests is "inaccurate."

It looks like we'll just have to sit tight to find out if any of these rumours are true. But for now, be content with the knowledge that Jenny Lewis is recording her new album in Los Angeles at Sound City studios, and you'll get your chance to hear it, Elvis or no Elvis.
