East Coast singer-songwriter Jenn Grant has announced a new album and shared the first single. "Judy" is the lead single from Champagne Problems.
In a recent tweet, Grant confirmed that Champagne Problems is a collaborative album made with 12 different Canadian contributors. The soaring, soulful "Judy" was written with fellow Nova Scotia musician Kim Harris.
"Writing 'Judy' with Kim Harris felt like a gift from another realm," said Grant in a statement, "and when I sing it now I can feel the power and the joy in it for others, which is just amazing to see."
The accompanying video, directed by Grant's sister-in-law Tessa Flemming (with cinematography by Grant's brother Daniel), shows Grant and Harris working as servers in a diner. Mo Kenney and Aquakultre appear in the video.
