The term singer/songwriter is one that carries a certain amount of prestige, yet it is thrown around far too liberally. For instance, take Toronto native Jeff Straker. Technically, he is a singer/songwriter because he writes songs and then sings them, but to put him in the same category as Bob Dylan is criminal. To put him in the same category as Jacob Dylan is just as bad because Stakers music is just so bland and inoffensive that making it to the end of the eleventh song was a real chore. Dull, dull, dull.
