Published Apr 20, 2011The last we heard from irresistible garage pop duo JEFF the Brotherhood, they had just put the finishing touches on their new album, We Are the Champions. The album is said to be coming out later this year via the band's Infinity Cat Records. However, their staunchly DIY days just might be over, as the band seem to have signed with Warner Bros.
While no official statement has been made from the band or the label, a series of rumours are spreading across the web. Record industry site RM64 reports, "Word has it that Nashville duo JEFF the Brotherhood, who was the subject of courting from a variety of indie and major record labels, has signed with a label belonging to the latter category."
This rumour is supported by the fact that the Brotherhood now have their own spot on the Warner Bros. site. If that's not an indicator that they're on the label, we don't know what is.
We Are the Champions is slated for release on June 21 and is still listed for release from Infinity Cat. Our guess is that they will keep the Infinity Cat logo on there right beside the iconic WB shield.
