Jef Barbara Announces 'Soft to the Touch' Album, Shares Remix EP Featuring Cadence Weapon and Bertrand Burgalat

According to a press release, glamourous Montreal popsmith Jef Barbara has been, uh, time travelling in the future. Now that he's back, he has released a digital remix EP and is gearing up for the release of a new full-length. The album Soft to the Touch will be out on October 1 via Club Roll Music.

But first things first: the remix EP. I Know I'm Late Remixes features the album version of the perky robo-pop single, along with five remixes from the likes of Cadence Weapon, Bertrand Burgalat and more. Check out the EP below.

This song will reemerge on the subsequent full-length. An announcement notes that Soft to the Touch is dedicated to "sound rather than aural features, with more live feel and less sequencing." Its themes include "artistic ego, love obsession, emotional breakdown, existential loneliness, impaired communication, artistic quackery, good vibes, chronic lateness, physiological phenomena, lack of confidence and erotic fantasy."

See Barbara's somewhat sparse European tour schedule below. A North American tour will follow in October and November.

Tour dates:

09/21 Tilburg, Netherlands - Incubate Festival
09/26 Reims, France - La Cartonnerie
09/27 Paris, France - La Maroquinerie
10/10 Prague, Czech Republic - TBA
10/17 Vienna, Austria - Das Werk
