Last year, Regina-based hip-hop duo DGS Samurai Champs delivered their colourful Crayons EP, and now one half of the team has unveiled some fresh material. Rapper Jeah is stepping out with his debut solo single "This Evening," and Exclaim! is giving you the exclusive first listen.
The track comes from Jeah's forthcoming full-length of the same name, and it features his DGS Samurai Champs colleague Merv xx Gotti on guest vocals. It was produced by fellow Saskatchewanian Deadkeys and mastered by Jazz Cartier collaborator Peter Letros. The single artwork, pictured above, was designed by Kidalgo.
As with all of his music, "This Evening" finds Jeah expressing gratitude for the opportunities he's been given to pursue his own creativity. A first generation Cambodian-Canadian, he says he's determined not to take for granted the sacrifices his parents made for him and his siblings to live a life where that creativity can thrive. Hear him channel that sentiment and his own talent into the new track down below.
