Jay Reatard Celebrates Watch Me Fall with In-Store Shows, Gets His Own Documentary

With his amazing Matador debut, Watch Me Fall, set to drop on August 18, Memphis garage punk tycoon Jay Reatard has got the promotional ball a-rollin'. As such, Matador has just announced a series of in-store performances along the West coast.

Kicking off in L.A. on August 18, Reatard will make his way up the coast for a stretch of shows, the tour concluding with a Canadian stop at Vancouver's famed Zulu Records. But be warned: Reatard will not be playing club shows on this tour, so expect to line up all afternoon if you want to catch the performances.

Along with the tour, August 2 will see the release of Waiting for Something, a short documentary about Jay Reatard. The film will be available on MySpace, and a trailer is viewable below.

Once the promotional blitz is over, hopefully Jay can get working on the oodles of projects he told us about.
