Published Jul 20, 2012Fine Mist member Jay Arner recently announced he's working on a solo album, but the Vancouver musician also plays the local circuit with a full backing band. The quintet have just delivered a new two-song seven-inch, and you can stream both tracks now online.
Arner described the A-side as "a fake punk song written in five minutes in the middle of the night when I had awful insomnia," but the somewhat crunchy tune's sunny vocals ensure you won't be confusing this for G.I.S.M. on your iTunes.
"Black Horse," meanwhile, is a soft new wave shuffler in the vein of Phoenix that wraps breathy Beach Boys harmonies around gauzy synth sounds, guitar jangle, and a steady beat.
