Jay-Z to Drop New LP This Spring?
Last month, we heard that rap superstars Jay-Z and Kanye West would be releasing a collaborative EP, Watch the Throne, which is tied in with with Ye's G.O.O.D. Friday campaign. Now, according to fellow MC Q-Tip, Jay-Z will be putting out a new album in spring 2011.

In a recent interview, Q-Tip told XXL, "Kanye and I are gonna continue to work together. We're doing some stuff for Jay-Z's new album that's coming out in the spring." However, it's unclear if this project is the same as his collaborative EP with Kanye.

Q-Tip went on to talk about some other new projects, including a solo album of his own. He said, "Kanye should be working on that, too." He also revealed that he was getting set to work with Mary J. Blige.

What's more, he's currently finishing up a documentary about his former group, A Tribe Called Quest, with director Michael Rapaport. The film won't be done in time for Sundance Film Festival (January 2011), but should be ready for Cannes (May 2011).

Q-Tip said, "You know, I hate to sound self-involved but I feel like I haven't peaked yet. I have a lot to give still. I still look the part… I still got it."

Thanks to Consequence of Sound for the heads-up.
