Jay-Z At Work on Blueprint 3

Jay-Z At Work on Blueprint 3
Confirmed at Kanye’s NYC performance of The Glow In The Dark tour, the rumours have been made official: Jay-Z and clan are hard at work on The Blueprint 3, the follow-up to the hip-hop masterpiece that was released on September 11, 2001, and its lesser sequel. During the encore of the tour, Kanye mentioned that he wanted to play some new beats he had made in Hawaii, at which point "Jockin’ Jay-Z,” a new track, came on and Jay-Z entered the stage.

The song is built on an epic boom-bap drum beat and looping blues guitars while Jay-Z references his Oasis beef with lines like, "That bloke from Oasis said I couldn't play guitar / somebody shoulda told him I'm a fucking rock star / today is gonna be the day that I'm gonna throw it back to you.”

Earlier this year, word had leaked that Jay was working on a new album with Timbaland as the sole producer. In an interview with Rolling Stone , Jay cleared the air, stating, "You know I love Timbaland, he is like a brother to me, but until the music is done it’s premature. I’m a person that works off music. If Timbaland makes ten great tracks then he produces the album, if Kanye West makes ten great tracks then he produces the album; if he makes three, I’ll take three. I let the music dictate the direction.”

On the The Blueprint 3 beats, Jay-Z’s bud Memphis Bleek tells Billboard, "It's going to be a masterpiece though… Kanye gave him some beats where I told Jay that I'm hating on him for having them. The beats are like new rhythms with old drums. Just picture Jay-Z having four records like 'Encore.'"
