Jason Zumpano's Cyrillic Typerwriter Ropes In Destroyer's Dan Bejar and Loscil for Sophomore Album

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Aug 23, 2012

Former Zumpano/Sparrow leader Jason Zumpano premiered his current project the Cyrillic Typewriter with a self-titled LP last year, and the West Coast pop auteur is quickly following up that release with a sophomore set called French Door, which was recently released by Jaz Records.

The album re-teams Zumpano with Destroyer's Dan Bejar; the Cyrillic Typewriter head honcho had previously played on Bejar's Thief and Streethawk: A Seduction. The Destroyer dude lends vocals to two songs, "Paris Churchyard" and "Visions of Daniel," and you can hear the latter, a relatively light folk pop jam, down below.

Additionally, you can download album tracks "Dizzy & Blessed," "Boxing Arenas" and "Naked in Snow" over here at Jaz Records.

The bulk of the LP was penned by Zumpano, but Destroyer collaborator Scott Morgan (aka Loscil) co-wrote "Paris Churchyard." The album also contains a cover of Devo's 1980 number "Gates of Steel."
