Japanese Breakfast frontwoman Michelle Zauner has inked a deal to write a memoir titled Crying in H Mart.

The book doesn't have a release date yet, but the North American publishing rights have been bought by Knopf.

According to a press release, Zauner's story touches on her experiences of "growing up Korean-American, losing her mother too young, searching for identity in a hybrid culture, and finding a passion for her ancestry and Korean cooking as a way to heal and return to her roots in the wake of loss."

Her writing has previously appeared in the New Yorker and Glamour.

In addition to penning her memoir, Zauner will be touring with her band throughout spring and summer, including a stop at Sled Island in Calgary on June 19.
