Japandroids to Kick Off 2010 by Playing Jimmy Fallon

Following a truly impressive year in 2009, Vancouver fuzz-rock duo Japandroids will be starting off 2010 on an equally high note. Come the new year, the group have confirmed that they will be making their network television debut with a performance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.

While it's not yet known which song the band will be playing, we can report that the show will be airing on January 4. This follows a recent trend of indie bands on Fallon's show. Most recently, seminal indie rockers Sunny Day Real Estate and Jawbox performed reunion sets on the late night talk show.

If you're anxious to find out what their live performance will be like, the band recently recorded a live session for the Daytrotter series. The tracks, available here, include their own "Rockers East Vancouver," and a cover of Big Black's "Racer X."

In some related Japandroids goodness, they are also embarking on a lengthy European tour next month (you can see those dates here ), and recently made their way onto Exclaim!'s top Pop Rocks albums of 2009 list, landing the No. 2 spot.
