Having played over 200 shows worldwide behind their 2009 debut Post-Nothing, it's clear that fuzzy Vancouver alt-rock duo Japandroids have a penchant for long-ass tour cycles. Their sophomore set Celebration Rock was just released this past May, but the band have been on the road non-stop since then, and have just announced another round of global dates that will have them avoiding their hometown until December.
The duo are currently out in Europe, and will continue to make their way around that continent until early November, capping the massive chunk of dates at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Paris. They jet back to our side of the pond a couple of days later, and will traipse around North America for another 34 shows.
Japandroids team up with L.A. popsters Bleached along the West Coast of the U.S. before splitting off on their own to head eastward for Canadian stops in Toronto and Montreal. After dipping back down into the U.S., the boys will end the 2012 tour cycle with more Canuck dates in Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton and Calgary before capping it all with a hometown show at Vancouver's Rickshaw Theatre on December 22. The Jim Larson-directed clip features sweaty live show footage, but also showcases some whiskey-pounding at a cabin, has the boys firing off a couple rounds in the forest, and uncomfortably ends with a panicky drunk girl crying in the street.
