Japandroids in the Running to Become Vancouver Canucks' Entrance Music

Still basking in the success of their sophomore set Celebration Rock, Vancouver alt-rock duo Japandroids may be up for a new honour, as they're in the running to have their song selected as the Vancouver Canucks' entrance music.

Their song "The House That Heaven Built" is in some weird company, up against Static in the Stars' "We Are," Guns N' Roses' "Welcome to the Jungle," Volbeat's "A Warrior's Call," DJ MEG's "Stockholm" and, as could be expected from a hockey music contest, Nickelback's "Burn It to the Ground."

You can vote on which song you'd like to see the Sedins skate out to here, and check out what it would look like if Japandroids won below.

As the team's copy writer explains, however, they won't use the winning song forever.

"Again, nothing is cemented as the Canucks entrance song goes," he writes. "We're dating some different songs, if you will. Some nights it may be spinach-in-the-teeth awkward, love a first sight other games. Just enjoy the ride."

In other words, Nickelback will likely get a turn on the P.A. as well.
