Jane's Party Celebrate Childhood Materialism with Christmas Song "I Want It Bad"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Nov 22, 2019

It's not even December yet, but Jane's Party are already getting into the Christmas spirit with their new song "I Want It Bad."

The track was written and produced by Jay McCarrol and Jane's Party, with
Thomas D'Arcy handling engineering, and the idea for it originated last holiday season.

Fully formed and recorded, the track is now ready for release just in time for Christmas 2019.

"The song touches on all the Christmas greed you feel as a kid, but then reflects on how, as you get older, excitement and greed transform into yearning — for togetherness and that nostalgic, child-like Christmas spirit," Devon Richardson of the band tells Exclaim!

"Christmas is about family, and giving... but for kids, it's all about GETTING," McCarrol adds. "This song is about the Nintendo 64 meme kid, and that glorious feeling of another Christmas conquered."
