One-third of the xx and renowned sample mastermind Jamie xx has returned with his first new solo material since 2019's one-off "Idontknow." Today, the DJ roars back with "LET'S DO IT AGAIN."

Writing credits on the song go to the artist born James Smith, as well as Bobby Barnes (whose song "Super High on Your Love" is sampled). The self-produced track was mixed by Rodaidh McDonald and mastered by Matt Colton.

Along with the fiery new tune, the acclaimed DJ has also hinted at plans for a follow-up to his excellent 2015 debut In Colour, having revealed in 2020 that he will "undoubtedly [release] an album at some point ... but that's a little way off yet." A whole pandemic later, perhaps a little way off is now soon to be.

Smith has also launched a new episode of the xx's Interludes Radio show for Apple Music 1 today, which you can listen to here.

Meanwhile, his xx counterparts Romy Madley Croft and Oliver Sim have been cooking up their own solo material, with Sim having delivered his debut solo single just last month, while Croft's debut arrived back in 2020.

While we let all that simmer, listen to "LET'S DO IT AGAIN" below.
