Published Nov 26, 2014London-based artist Sofia Mattioli has brought together some big names in electronic music for her latest art project.
Her new eight-minute short film Continuum features a soundtrack provided by Jamie xx, Four Tet, John Talabot and Koreless, who each contribute roughly two minutes of musical accompaniment to Mattioli's visuals.
The film was made on an iPhone with help from longtime collaborator Rebecca Salvadori and premiered earlier today over at Nowness.
"The video has been put together in the same chronological order as the tracks were handed in," explained Mattioli. "It's beautiful how they all blend together in that exact same order. It is fascinating to see how different each piece of music is, although inspired by the same silent video and is of exactly the same length. Art always raises questions and keeps open the wonder."
