Published Jun 03, 2010While he announced some dates a while back, soulful post-electro star Jamie Lidell just can't get enough of the road, so he's added a new slab of dates to his packed schedule. We may have called his latest effort Compass "a great summer album to add to your list," but we're hoping it will translate into other months with a run of North American shows this fall.
The autumn run kicks off with an appearance at Montreal's Osheaga Festival on August 31. From there, it's back to the U.S. until he surfaces in Canada again for a Calgary show on October 5 and a Winnipeg show on October 7.
Stereogum recently premiered a video for the Compass stand-out "Telephone." Lidell shared his idea behind the provocative video, saying, "Exploring the libidinal economics of modern telecomms, 'I Wanna Be Your Telephone' was always ripe for a tantalizing, uninhibited stream of images to accompany its naughty lyrical flow. Well, here it is! It's a dance routine, a mini picture, an ascot, a homemade biscuit, a velvet drape, a hat, a pipe and a satin slip of a video ... Relax in the knowledge that naughty is still real nice."
