Jamie Jones

Fabric 59

Jamie Jones's Fabric mix (the 59 in an already esteemed series) sees the UK-based house producer, DJ and Hot Creations label co-head in top gear. Jones's track selection indicates an emphasis on accessibility in place of a single coherent musical theme and experimentation. Metronomy's electro remix of Sebastian Tellier's "La Ritournelle" is shrouded by the straight-up house/disco house vibes the rest of the mix exhibit. The success of Jamie Jones's Fabric 59 mix is the amount of breathing room given ― Holy Ghost's epic electro-/disco-inflected remix of Panthers' "Goblin City" approaches eight minutes. The inclusion of James Teej's "Don't Appear (Redux)," Felix Da Housecat's "Madame Hollywood," "The Devil's Dancers" by Oppenheimer Analysis and Jones's tracks make the mix a memorable venture. Pay close attention to showstopper "Assimilation"; the Hot Natured track comes from a collaboration between Ali Love (vocalist on Justice's "Civilization") and Kenny Glasgow (of Toronto's Art Department).
