James Brown's Items to be Auctioned

BY Dave SynyardPublished Jan 10, 2008

The late great James Brown’s remaining possessions are to be appraised and then auctioned off to help pay off tax money owed by his estate according to a court-appointed trustee.

Although lawyer Adele Pope would not disclose exactly what items are to be auctioned off, how much they are worth or how much Brown’s estate owes, she revealed that an auction will take place to compensate for his debts.

Brown’s will called for the items to be divided amongst his six adult children, but Tomi Rae Hynie, who claims to be Brown’s fourth wife and mother of his children, has contested the will. She feels that she is entitled to half the estate, as are his children to some items. Now the trustees have asked them to provide a list of items they do not want auctioned.
