James Blake Gives Update on New Album, Talks Collaborations with Bon Iver, Kanye West

It's only been a little more than a year since British post-dubstep crooner James Blake released Overgrown, but work is already well underway on the follow-up. Blake has now shed some light on his progress and named a couple of the big-name contributors who are likely to appear.

Speaking with Billboard, Blake said that he has "done some writing with" Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, and added that they would continue collaborating. He has also worked with Kanye West "sporadically," and hinted that there is another notable collaboration in the works. There's no word if he's still planning to make more music with Chance the Rapper.

Fans shouldn't get too excited just yet, however, since it's not clear exactly what material will end up on the record. Regarding the next LP, he said, "Probably, I'd say that every song was about 50 percent done. So I don't know — there's a few songs. I'm getting there."
