Last night (October 16), James Blake undertook another BBC Radio 1 Residency and, as could be expected, the post-dubstep wonder used his on-air time to debut a new single. The track in question is a piano-warping tune titled "Building It Still."
The song busts out the familiar, soft and mumbled coos of Blake, wrapping these around a series of wubbed synths and a deconstructed wash of piano. While the arrangement quickly unravels into an amber spotlight-lit arrangement of jazz lounge piano for a moment or two, the song is more comfortable contorting the source material into something a tad more danceable.
You'll hear the follow-up to last year's Overgrown artist's latest track down below. Hell, maybe you'll even hear it at one of Blake's upcoming tour dates, which include a November 30 stop at Toronto's Mod Club. You can see the rest of his show schedule here.
