Published Jul 28, 2010"Short" and "entertaining" are the perfect words to describe the music released by French duo Jamaica (formerly Poney Poney). Now, the pop rockers are getting set to release their newest single, the appropriately dubbed "Short & Entertaining," on August 16 via Cooperative Music.
The track follows in the same vein as past Jamaica output, with metallic guitars and an ebullient, dance-worthy chorus. The single comes with remixes by Das Glow, Mad Decent, and Mixhell & Goose.
Like the previously released "I Think I Like U 2," the new single will appear on the group's debut LP, No Problem, due out August 23. The album was produced by Peter Franco and Justice's Xavier de Rosnay.
According to a press release, "Contrary to what people might expect, there isn't a synth in sight. In fact, the only rule when recording the album was 'No synthesizers would be involved!'"
The band will be heading across the Atlantic in the fall for a short North American tour that includes a performance at Wrong Bar in Toronto on October 19. See the dates below the No Problem tracklist. At the bottom of the page is the head-banging video for "Short & Entertaining," which features Sepultura drummer Igor Cavalera.
