Jack White's Third Man Unveils New Signature Turntable

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Nov 14, 2014

Jack White's Third Man Records imprint has issued trunk loads of special-press singles, live LPs and, naturally, White-related albums over the years, often using out-there gimmicks like heat-reactive vinyl and triple-decker LPs. It makes sense then that the label has announced a new custom audiophile turntable.

A post on the label's website explains that Third Man has teamed up with Pro-Ject Audio Systems to produce a signature record player. The Pro-Ject Limited Lightning Yellow RM 1.3 Turntable, which you can see up above, is described in a product listing as delivering "sonic transcendence. "

Along with having "radical design" based on the label's black and yellow aesthetics, specs for the player note that the unit has a "factory-mounted moving magnet cartridge, an inverted chrome-plated, stainless steel axle that rests on a polished steel bearing in a bronze housing for low wow-and-flutter and speed accuracy," as well as noise-reduction capabilities that will "make your records SING."

You'll find out all of the specifics regarding the Pro-Ject Limited Lightning Yellow RM 1.3 Turntable, which retails at $499.99 U.S., over here.

In addition to the turntable, Third Man has unveiled a handful of stocking stuffers ahead of the holidays. This includes guitar straps, guitar picks, keychains, stickers, Zippo lighters and more. Also unveiled was a Lazaretto-themed box for 45s, which would be a good place to stick White's new "Would You Fight for My Love?" 7-inch.
