Published Dec 19, 2017While Third Man Records is recognized as the place that presses up all kinds of Jack White oddities, live records and classic tunes that deserve revisiting, the label has also leant its star power to boosting the careers of artists outside of rock. Now, the label has announced plans to reach further into hip-hop by signing its first rapper.
Third Man revealed the news today (December 19) through its Twitter account, asking fans to "stay close" for further updates. However, Third Man is not naming names, making the identity of the rapper quite the mystery.
Some users were quick to chime in with guesses of their own, suggesting Black Milk, Danny Brown, Tennessee MC Mike Floss, "Jack White in a wig," and that delightful mashup of White and Lil Pump that can be found below.
Both Black Milk and Shabazz Palaces have released Live at Third Man Records LPs, while the label also had a hand in bringing JAY-Z's 2013 LP Magna Carta Holy Grail to wax in 2015.
For now, though, stay tuned for further details on the identity of the mysterious signing.
