Jack White Produces JEFF the Brotherhood on New Seven-Inch

Once again, Jack White has put on his producer's hat for another new seven-inch coming out through his own Third Man Records. This time, the single comes from Nashville psych punk duo JEFF the Brotherhood, and it will be out tomorrow (October 4).

The seven-inch features the song "Whatever I Want" backed by the Tiger B. Smith cover "Everything I Need." An announcement on the label's website says that the A-side "plods along like the sickest things the Melvins have ever done," while the flip is "raw chugging punk rock with attitude to spare." A video for "Everything I Need" will hit the internet tomorrow.

All told, it's "almost 12 minutes of godhead drone jams," which is a lot of music for just seven inches of wax. In addition to standard black vinyl, the label will release 100 copies on tri-colour vinyl, which will be released exclusively at its Nashville location. Order a copy here.

In other Jack White news, he contributed to The Lost Notebooks of Hank Williams, which also features Bob Dylan, Levon Helm, Norah Jones and more. It will be out on CD tomorrow through Egyptian/Columbia, and on vinyl later this month through Third Man. You can listen to White's take on Williams's "You Know That I Know" over at Rolling Stone.
