Published Jan 04, 2014Jack White never sits still for long. The prolific Third Man Records mogul hinted last year that he had some new solo material in the works, and now he's revealed that he's almost finished the follow-up to 2012's Blunderbuss.
In a fans-only chat with members of his Vault subscription series, White wrote [via Consequence of Sound], "I'm producing two albums this month, and finishing them." He added, "One of them is mine." This presumably refers to a solo album; see the transcript here.
It doesn't come as a shock that White is almost done a new album. Last winter, he told Rolling Stone that he was recording with his live bands the Buzzards and the Peacocks and that he had "20 or 25 tracks." At the time, he said he was writing and recording with no firm plan or schedule.
Of course, this isn't the only new album that White has in the works, since he's planning to release a series of singles with the Dead Weather prior to a new LP in 2015. Stay tuned for updates; knowing White, he's bound to reveal new music soon enough.
Just yesterday (January 3), we learned that the White Stripes are reissuing some fancy-looking 7-inches.
