Jack White

"Love Interruption" (video)

It's Valentine's Day, but Jack White's got no time for the mushy stuff in the video for "Love Interruption," off his forthcoming solo debut Blunderbuss. The straight-forward, self-directed clip skips out on White's once-preferred red and white colour palette for a mix of darker tones and greys. In it, he and vocalist/guitarist Ruby Amufu duet on the powerfully painful effects of love.

Atop smooth clarinet and organ melodies, the pair pines for a hard-hitting form of love that has you feeling like you've been stuck with a knife, had your fingers slammed in a door, and leaves you for dead. On the one hand, it's kind of gruesome, but it feels more real than any hokey Hallmark greeting. Check it out below.

As previously reported, Blunderbuss comes out April 24 via Third Man/Columbia/XL.
